Application Scenarios

Small Commercial Rooftop (Clinic / Store / Workshop)
Who it’s for: Small clinics, retail stores, and light workshops needing 3-phase power, backup for POS/IT, and bill savings via TOU.
| Component | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| PV array | 6–10 kW (2 MPPT, split E/W or S) | Smooths peaks, better yield on mixed roofs |
| Battery (HV) | 10–15 kWh, CAN/RS485 BMS | Covers evening peak + short outages |
| Backup bus | POS, lighting, router, CCTV | Avoid high inrush devices on backup |
3-phase balance checklist:
- Distribute single-phase loads across L1/L2/L3 to reduce imbalance
- Keep backup branch light and stable (IT + lights first)
- Verify CT orientation before enabling zero-export
“Two brownouts in a week—POS never dropped once.” — Store owner feedback
Suburban Villa with Heat Pump / Pool Pump (3-Phase Loads)
Who it’s for: Homes with 3-phase appliances (heat pump, pool pump, large induction cooktop) that want comfort + lower bills.
Suggested setup:
- PV 7–10 kW across 2 MPPT (keep string Isc ≤ inverter limit)
- Battery 10–15 kWh; reserve SOC 25–30% for outage buffer
- Zero-export ON if your HOA/utility forbids feed-in
Simple TOU plan (code style):
Charge (off-peak): 00:00–05:00 Discharge (peak): 18:00–22:00 Reserve SOC: 25% Zero-export: 08:00–18:00 (if required)
Installer notes:
- Place EV charger and heat pump on non-backup side to avoid inrush during transfer
- Balance single-phase sub-circuits across L1/L2/L3
- Save screenshots of final parameters for utility file
Rural Farm: Cold Room + Water Pump + Night Lighting
Who it’s for: Farms with 3-phase pump during the day and cold room/light loads at night, where outages or voltage dips happen.
| Time | Energy flow | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Day (sunny) | PV → Pump + surplus → Battery | Pump on non-backup side; monitor inrush |
| Evening | Battery → Cold room + lights | Quiet hybrid, no genset noise |
| Outage | UPS ≤10 ms keeps lighting/IT stable | Avoid starting pump during transfer |
Wiring quick path:
- CT on main incomer (arrow → grid) for export control
- Cold room and lights on backup; pump on grid/non-backup
- Set TOU to recharge off-peak if night cooling is heavy

What are the core electrical specs and grid compliance?
Specs at a glance
| Item | 5k | 6k | 8k | 10k |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rated AC power | 5 000 Вт | 6,000 W | 8,000 W | 10 000 Вт |
| PV voltage / MPPT range | 1000 V max / 180–900 V | |||
| Strings / MPPT | 2 MPPTs, 1 string per MPPT; 15 A per string (Isc 18 A) | |||
| Battery (HV) | Lithium, 180–600 V; charge/discharge 30 A | |||
| Эффективность | Max 98.0% (Euro 97.6%) | |||
| IP / Noise / Cooling | IP65 / <30 dBA / natural convection | |||
- Supports 150% DC oversizing and 110% AC overloading (project-dependent).
- Three-phase grids: 220/380 V, 230/400 V, 3L/N/PE; PF 0.8 lead–lag; THD(i) <3%.
How does backup (UPS) behave and what should go on the backup circuit?
Suggested “essential loads” (example):
| Load | Power | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| LED lighting | 100–300 W | Primary rooms / signage |
| Router + CCTV | 30–60 W | Network continuity |
| Fridge (inverter type) | 90–150 W avg | Exclude large compressors |
3-step setup:
- Wire essential loads to the BACK-UP terminals; keep heavy inrush loads off this bus.
- Set a reserve SOC (e.g., 25–30%) so evening outages still have cover.
- Run a grid-off test and confirm transfer sequence in the LED/app.
How should I size PV strings and the high-voltage battery?
PV inputs: 2 × MPPT, 1 string/MPPT, 15 A per string (Isc limit 18 A); MPPT window 180–900 V; DC max 1000 V.
Battery (HV): Lithium 180–600 V; charge/discharge 30 A. Match a BMS with CAN/RS485 so SOC is accurate and charge curves are safe.
| Design feature | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| 150% DC oversizing | Smoother output on cloudy days; better early/late harvest |
| 110% AC overloading | Short peak handling without clipping alarms |
Example string count: Panel Voc(stc)=49 V, TempCoeffVoc=-0.28%/°C, Tmin=-10°C Voc(@-10°C)=49×[1+0.0028×(25-(-10))]≈53.8 V Max series count ≈ floor(1000/53.8)=18 modules per string
Can I enforce zero-export? How should the meter/CT be wired?
Yes. Use the SAJ-recommended smart meter + CTs and enable Export Limit in the eSAJ Home app.
Wiring quick path:
- CT arrow faces the grid on the incoming main.
- Connect meter to EMS/METER port via RS485 using pin 1 (A1+) and pin 2 (B1-).
- If cable > 20 m, add a 120 Ω resistor on the meter as specified.
- In app: set Export Limit = 0 W (or your cap), verify live readings.
Common mistakes to avoid:
- Reversed CT → negative readings (flip orientation).
- RS485 A/B swapped → no data (swap A/B).
- Multiple devices on bus without unique addresses.
How do I commission and monitor (app, reports, power quality modes)?
Commissioning steps (quick):
- Install eSAJ Home; select “Overseas Node”; bind device by SN via Bluetooth.
- Pick country/grid profile; confirm frequency & voltage range.
- Run Export-Limit wizard (if required) and save parameters.
Power quality & control: Fixed PF, fixed Q, Volt-Watt and Volt-Var modes per AS/NZS 4777.2; PF 0.8 lead–lag; THD(i) <3%.
Simple TOU plan (example): Charge: 00:00–05:00 (off-peak) Discharge: 18:00–22:00 (peak) Reserve SOC: 25% Zero-export: Enabled daytime if policy requires
