The High-Consumption Smart Home
Who it’s for: Large modern homes with three-phase power, high energy demands (pool pumps, multiple air conditioners, home offices), and an EV, seeking maximum energy independence and a premium, integrated solution.
Typical high-demand loads (example):
| Load | Power (W) | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Central Air Conditioning | 3000–5000 | Run on solar/grid |
| EV Charger | Up to 11,000 | Charge with surplus solar |
| Pool Pump | 800–1500 | Run on solar |
| Kitchen & Essentials | 500–2500 | UPS Backup |
How it runs (Self-Use + EV + Backup Mode):
Daytime: PV → Power all loads; surplus → Charge EV; extra → Charge Battery Evening: Battery → Power entire home Grid Outage: Battery → Seamlessly power essential circuits (<20ms switch) Set Reserve: Keep Battery SOC at 25% for outage protection
Sizing guide (for reference):
- A 15 kWh battery system (3 modules) can comfortably cover a high-use evening (6-8 kWh) while retaining ample backup power.
- A 25 kWh system (5 modules) provides true multi-day energy security for the whole home.
“It’s true energy independence. The HS3 runs our whole house, charges the car, and we barely notice when the grid goes down. The single, sleek unit is a huge bonus.”
Small Commercial & Workshop Resilience
Who it’s for: Small businesses, workshops, or agricultural operations with three-phase machinery and critical systems (like refrigeration, servers, or automated equipment) that need to cut daytime energy costs and ensure operational continuity.
Critical business loads (example):
| Load | Power (W) | Put on BACK-UP? |
|---|---|---|
| Office Server & Network | 200–350 | Yes |
| Refrigeration / Cold Room | 1500–3000 | Yes |
| Lighting & Security | 300–600 | Yes |
| Heavy Machinery | 5000–10000+ | No (keep on grid) |
How it runs (Backup & Self-Use Mode):
Daytime: PV → Power all loads (office + machinery); surplus → Battery Grid Outage: Battery → Instantly powers backup circuit (office, refrigeration) Evening: Battery → Powers essential overnight loads (servers, security) Set Reserve: Keep Battery SOC at 50% minimum for business-hour backup
Runtime guide (for reference):
- A 10 kWh battery pack can run a 2 kW critical load for over 4 hours, bridging most common power cuts.
- A 25 kWh system (5 modules) provides extended resilience for a full working day’s essential operations.
“We can’t afford downtime. The HS3 has already saved us from two outages, keeping our cold storage and servers running perfectly. The reduction in our daytime power bill is a massive bonus.”

Häufig gestellte Fragen
Find answers to common questions about our products and services
How do I size HS3 (5–12 kW) for a typical three-phase home or small business?
Use this quick path to match inverter, PV, and battery.
- Estimate peak load: add the kW of big appliances likely to run together (e.g., AC 3 kW + oven 2 kW + pumps 1 kW ≈ 6 kW).
- Pick inverter power: choose the next HS3 size up from peak. For the example, select HS3-6k.
- Size the PV array: match model limits (see table). Aim for 0.9–1.2× inverter kW in many markets.
- Choose battery modules: each BU3 pack is 5.0 kWh nominal, about 4.5 kWh usable. Start with 2–3 packs for evening loads.
| HS3 model | 5k | 6k | 8k | 10k | 12k |
| Max PV @ STC | 10 kW | 12 kW | 12 kW | 15 kW | 15 kW |
| MPPT / Max DC V | 2 MPPT, 180–900 V; 1000 V max | ||||
| Battery scalability | Up to 8× BU3 modules (stack or multiple stacks) | ||||
What backup power can HS3 deliver, and how do I estimate runtime?
Backup output is three-phase with short surge support. Use this table to plan essential loads.
| HS3 model | Rated backup (W) | 60 s surge (VA) | Voltage / Freq | Output THDv |
| 5k | 5000 | 7500 | 220/230/240 V; 50/60 Hz | <3% |
| 6k | 6000 | 9000 | — | — |
| 8k | 8000 | 12000 | — | — |
| 10k | 10000 | 15000 | — | — |
| 12k | 12000 | 15000 | — | — |
Quick runtime math (approx.):
Runtime (h) ≈ Usable battery (kWh) ÷ Load (kW)
- 3× BU3 packs ≈ 13.5 kWh usable → ~2.2 h at a steady 6 kW.
- 5× BU3 packs ≈ 22.5 kWh usable → ~1.9 h at 12 kW (shorter at high surge).
How do I monitor the system and access data?
You get local indicators plus app/portal tools.
- Front LEDs: show PV, grid, battery, backup, COM, and EV charger status at a glance.
- Elekeeper App: Bluetooth + Wi-Fi/Ethernet or 4G (model-dependent) for live PV, load, grid and battery data.
- Smart meter (DTSU666): RS485 link enables accurate import/export and advanced features.
Installer checklist
- Wire the meter CTs correctly (arrows toward inverter/on-grid).
- Verify RS485 polarity (A/B) at the meter and inverter terminals.
- Commission via App; confirm data refresh and phase mapping.
For long runs (>20 m) between inverter and meter, enable the 120 Ω termination as noted in the manual.
What installation environment and layout do installers usually follow?
At a glance
- IP65 enclosure — indoor or outdoor.
- Cooling: natural convection; keep clearances and mount vertically.
- Noise: <35 dBA — very quiet in utility areas.
- Altitude/Temp: up to 3000 m; −30 to +50 °C (power derates >45 °C).
- Size/Weight (inverter): 450×695×170 mm; ~34 kg.
| Do | Don’t |
| Install on a solid wall, vertical orientation; keep vents clear. | Don’t tilt forward/horizontal; avoid direct sun causing heat derate. |
| Maintain service space around the unit and stacks. | Don’t place near sprinklers or in bedrooms/bathrooms. |
What protections are built in, and what do they mean for daily use?
Protection is integrated on both DC and AC sides to meet common grid codes.
| Protection | What it helps with |
| Anti-islanding (AFD) | Stops backfeeding a dead grid during outages. |
| AFCI | Detects DC arc faults on PV strings. |
| DC/AC surge, Type II | Reduces damage risk from lightning/overvoltage. |
| RCMU / leakage monitor | Monitors residual current; supports RCD coordination. |
The system also supports 100% three-phase voltage imbalance and keeps THDv <3% on backup for sensitive loads.
